Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments
Biodiversity Net Gain is a principal in which development leave biodiversity in a better state than it was found.
Biodiversity Net Gain assessments can be undertaken at any time of year, however habitat condition assessments which form part of the calculations need to be carried out when flowering vegetation is most abundant – generally late spring and summer.
BNG Assessments are best undertaken in two stages:
-
Feasibility Assessments to highlight key areas to be retained and assess the likelihood of off-setting.
-
Detailed BNG assessments once the scheme is fixed and detailed landscaping plans are available.
We will work with your landscape architects to advise throughout the design where required.
