Who We Are
As a small company, we pride ourselves on working in conjunction with a number of trusted colleagues and associates, which allows us to be adaptable and proactive to meet the requirements of a project.
Tom Haley
Founder and Director of Ecology
Tom grew up in a small village in Cornwall, where nature was his playground. Overtime, with a big nudge from Jurassic Park Tom became fascinated by reptiles, which drove him forward to make wildlife his life.
Tom has been working within the ecological sector locally and internationally for over 10 years.
During this time he has worked with many protected species and has Natural England survey licences for bat (class 2) and great crested newts.
Tom's also a qualified tree climber as well as a published researcher.
His background is within conservation and ecology which gives the company an ethos of wanting to promote positive interactions between wildlife and people.
Brooke Waites
MCIEEM
Director and Principal Ecologist
With over 8 years industry experience, Brooke has been involved in a diverse project range from large scale, national infrastructure projects, to bespoke barn conversion schemes.
Brooke currently holds great crested newt and bat survey licences, as well as being a registered consultant under Natural England’s new Earned Recognition Scheme, allowing Tom Haley Ecology to provide clients with a more streamlined licence route to minimise cost and delays associated with the traditional full licence route.
As a Full CIEEM member, Brooke is held to high professional standards and maintains high levels of training to ensure we can provide advice in line with the latest guidance for services such as Biodiversity Net Gain.
